Overview

What Sailix shipping accounting software covers

Sailix shipping accounting software is a full ledger for the accounts desk of an NVOCC, liner agency or freight forwarder, kept in the same system as operations. It covers a chart of accounts with enforced levels, receipt and payment vouchers, contra, purchase and sales journals, credit and debit notes, bank reconciliation, bill matching, ageing, and foreign and local currency amounts. Customers, vendors and lines become accounting parties when they are created, so they are not keyed a second time.

Operations and accounts work on the same records. A receipt voucher settles the import, export, detention or repair invoice it pays, and for exports that receipt clears the bill of lading for issue. For India, Sailix raises GST e-invoices with an IRN through a GST Suvidha Provider and deducts TDS by party on receipt and payment vouchers. For the UAE, VAT is a tax type on invoices and journals. Trial balance, profit and loss and balance sheet are built from posted ledger entries.

Questions

Questions and answers

What does Sailix shipping accounting software cover?

It covers the general ledger and chart of accounts, receipt and payment vouchers, journals and notes, bank reconciliation and cheque tracking, bill matching, ageing, multi-currency amounts and financial reports. On the compliance side it covers Indian GST e-invoicing, TDS, UAE VAT, and customs CSN and export EDI files for Indian ports.

Who is Sailix shipping accounting software for?

It is for NVOCC operators, liner agencies and freight forwarders that want the ledger in the same system as their operations. Operations raise the export or import invoice, a receipt voucher settles it, and customers, vendors and lines are created as accounting parties in the same transaction as the master record.

How does Sailix handle Indian GST, TDS and UAE VAT?

Each is built into the documents. GST e-invoices are generated from export and import invoices through a GST Suvidha Provider, and the IRN and signed QR code are stored. TDS is assigned per accounting party and deducted on receipt and payment vouchers. UAE VAT is a tax type on invoices and journals. Sailix does not file TDS or VAT returns.

Can Sailix import bank statements or post exchange gain and loss?

No. Bank reconciliation is manual: you list the posted entries for a bank account and tick those that appear on your statement. Sailix stores the foreign amount, rate and local amount on each ledger line, but it does not post exchange differences or run a revaluation. Your accountant books those as separate journals.
