Overview

EDI work in Sailix starts from the bills of lading on a sailing. Export EDI Generation covers the files Indian ports and customs ask for. Choose the line, agent and vessel voyage, tick the B/Ls, and download a JSON file for the type you need: Export EDI, Export TDR, Advance Load List, EGM EDI or Kolkata EGM EDI.

Export TDR Generation produces the terminal departure report as a spreadsheet. Each output is a file that you send on yourself, and Sailix keeps a record of every file it generates. The Sea Cargo Manifest PDF is generated on the Export Manifest screen and Cargo Summary Notification files on the CSN screens, from the same B/L data.

Capabilities

What it does

  • EGM and Kolkata EGM

Two of the five file types are EGM files for Indian ports, EGM EDI and Kolkata EGM EDI, each built from the B/Ls selected on a vessel and voyage.

  • Downloads you send on

Every EDI output downloads as a JSON file. Sailix does not transmit it, so you send the file through the port, terminal or customs channel you already use.

  • Record of generated files

Sailix keeps a record of every EDI file it generates from Export EDI Generation, and each generation is stored with its file name.

  • Five export EDI types

Export EDI Generation downloads JSON files for Export EDI, Export TDR, Advance Load List, EGM EDI and Kolkata EGM EDI from the B/Ls you select.

  • Selection by voyage

Pick the line, agent, vessel voyage and an optional slot operator. Sailix lists the matching B/Ls with their status and manifest status, ready to select.

  • Terminal departure report

Export TDR Generation filters B/Ls by line, voyage, slot operator, discharge port, destination port and load status, and downloads the terminal departure report as an Excel file.

Workflow

How it works

  1. First

    Select the voyage

Open Export EDI Generation and choose the line, agent and vessel voyage, with a slot operator if you need one.

  2. Then

    Tick the B/Ls

Sailix lists the matching B/Ls with their status and manifest status. Tick the ones the file should cover.

  3. Next

    Generate the EDI files

Download the JSON file for each EDI type the port or customs requires, such as EGM EDI or the Advance Load List.

  4. Finally

    Add the departure report

In Export TDR Generation, filter the B/Ls for the voyage and download the terminal departure report as an Excel file.

Questions

Questions and answers

Which EDI files can Sailix generate for Indian ports?

Export EDI Generation offers five file types: Export EDI, Export TDR, Advance Load List, EGM EDI and Kolkata EGM EDI. Each is built from the B/Ls you select on one vessel voyage and downloads as a JSON file. Sailix keeps a record of every file it generates.

Can Sailix generate an EGM file?

Yes. Export EDI Generation for Indian ports offers EGM EDI and Kolkata EGM EDI among its file types. Each is built from the B/Ls you select on a vessel and voyage and downloads as a JSON file. The EGM number and date are recorded on the voyage.

Does Sailix transmit EDI files to the port or customs?

No. The EDI outputs download as JSON files and the terminal departure report as an Excel file. Sailix does not transmit them. You submit or send each one through the port, terminal or customs channel you already use.

Can I generate import EDI files in Sailix?

Import EDI generation is not part of the current menu. The files on Export EDI Generation are built from export B/Ls on a vessel voyage. For imports into India, the customs file is the Cargo Summary Notification, which Sailix produces on its own screens.
