Overview

Sailix organizes export work by sailing. An export master job is opened for one line on one vessel voyage, and every liner booking for that line and voyage sits under it. The booking form looks for the master job as soon as you pick the quotation and voyage, and tells you to create the job first if it is missing.

A booking starts from an accepted quotation that has not been booked yet. It holds the ports and terminals, B/L type, booking source, nomination agent, the line's booking reference, delivery agent, origin and destination free days, and the container list. Revenue and cost charge lines sit on the same screen with a net amount, so the expected margin is visible before any document is raised.

Capabilities

What it does

  • Master job per sailing

One active export master job per line and vessel voyage. Sailix blocks a duplicate up front and names the reference of the job that already exists.

  • Bookings from quotations

Select an accepted quotation with no booking and Sailix loads its customer, route and containers, marking which containers came from the quotation.

  • Container details

Record seal number, packages, weight, volume, commodity type and package type per container, and add extra containers beyond those on the quotation.

  • Revenue and cost lines

Add extra revenue and cost charges by tariff item, each with a charge type. The totals section shows the net amount for the booking.

  • Switch B/L and agents

Flag a switch B/L with its location and switch agent, and set the delivery agent at destination, creating a new delivery agent from the form if needed.

  • Transfer between sailings

Move selected bookings from one export master job to another line and vessel voyage. Sailix creates the target master job if it does not exist.

Workflow

How it works

  1. First

    Open the master job

Create the export master job with its start date, service name, line and vessel voyage.

  2. Then

    Start the booking

Pick the accepted quotation and the vessel voyage schedule. Sailix confirms the matching export master job.

  3. Next

    Complete the details

Fill in B/L type, booking source, ports, delivery agent, free days, containers and any extra revenue or cost lines.

  4. Finally

    Move to release

Save the booking, then raise a release request against it so the yard can hand over the containers.

Questions

Questions and answers

What is an export master job in Sailix?

It is the parent record for the bookings one line carries on one vessel voyage. It holds the job start date, service name, line, vessel voyage, an optional service partner and remarks, and its status is active, completed or cancelled. A booking needs a master job for its line and voyage.

Can I create a liner booking without a quotation?

No. The booking form lists accepted quotations that have no booking yet, and the booking takes its customer, route and container mix from the one you choose. Create the inquiry and quotation first, accept the quotation, then book it.

What if a booking has to roll to a different vessel?

Open the export master job, select the bookings and transfer them to the new line and vessel voyage. Sailix places them under the master job for that sailing and creates it when none exists. A separate screen changes the destination or discharge port when the load confirm cannot be edited.

Where are free days set for an export booking?

Origin and destination free days are fields on the booking itself. Extra free days for specific B/Ls or bookings are entered in Free Days Configuration, and a separate approvals list handles pending configurations that are decided on behalf of the line.
