Agency and tariffs

Overview

The vessel master records each ship once: name, code, IMO code, call sign, operator, country of registration, build year, capacity in TEU, reefer plugs and tonnage figures. Voyages are then created against a vessel with a voyage number, load and destination ports, ETA, ETB and ETD, and the arrival and sailing status.

Creating a voyage also creates its vessel voyage schedule, the row that documents book against. A schedule shows the port of loading, place of delivery, ETA, ETD, arrival and sail status, and a publish setting. Published schedules calling at the origin port on or after the shipment date are offered on export quotations.

Capabilities

What it does

  • Vessel master

Record vessel name, code, IMO code, call sign, operator, registration country, class, TEU capacity, reefer plugs, deadweight, length overall, vessel draft and register tonnages.

  • Voyage master

Create voyages per vessel with voyage number, ports, rotation number, ETA, ETB, ETD, arrival and sailing dates, and statuses such as expected, arrived, sailed or delayed.

  • Customs and port details

Store IGM and EGM numbers and dates, the manifest registration number, last and next port, port and list cut-offs, and VIA and VCN numbers on the voyage.

  • Schedules with ETA and ETD

Each schedule row carries vessel, voyage, port of loading, place of delivery, ETA, ETD, rotation number and MRN number, with arrival and sail status.

  • Draft and published schedules

Filter schedules by published, draft, arrived, sailed or pending. Only published schedules are offered when a quotation looks for a sailing.

  • Duplicate protection

Sailix refuses a voyage that repeats the same vessel, voyage number and destination, and keeps schedules unique on vessel, ETA and ETD.

Workflow

How it works

  1. First

    Add the vessel

Create the vessel with its name, code and IMO code, plus its capacity and registration details.

  2. Then

    Create the voyage

Pick the vessel and enter the voyage number, ports, ETA and ETD. Sailix creates the matching schedule.

  3. Next

    Publish the schedule

Review the schedule and set it to published, and it becomes available to quotations from that load port.

  4. Finally

    Update arrival and sailing

Record the arrival and sail status and dates as the vessel calls, along with the IGM or EGM details.

Questions

Questions and answers

How do I add a vessel schedule in Sailix?

Create the vessel in Vessel Master, then create a voyage for it in Voyage Master with the load port, destination, ETA and ETD. Sailix adds the vessel voyage schedule for that voyage. You can also create or edit a schedule directly in Vessel Voyage Schedules and publish it.

Can one voyage number serve several destinations?

Yes. Sailix treats a voyage as a duplicate only when the vessel, the voyage number and the destination all match. The same voyage number on the same vessel can therefore be entered for different destinations, and those voyages share one schedule when their ETA and ETD are the same.

Which schedules appear when I prepare an export quotation?

The quotation screens list schedules that are active and published, call at the quotation's origin port, and sail on or after the shipment date, judged by ETD or by ETA when that is what the schedule carries. The destination is not part of the match.

What voyage details does Sailix record for customs?

The voyage holds the rotation number, IGM number and date, EGM number and date, manifest registration number, and declarations such as crew list, passenger list, ship store and maritime declaration marked yes or no. It also records the last port, next port, and VIA and VCN numbers.
