Platform

Overview

The line your agency represents has to answer rate requests, release containers and agree to extra free days. In Sailix it can do that itself. A liner user lands on a separate dashboard, not the agency one, with menus for containers, negotiation requests, release orders, container acceptance, container tracking and free days approvals.

The overview shows the line's total and available containers, average daily rate, recent activity and active negotiations from linked agencies. A line linked to more than one agency can filter by agency. Free days requests are limited to the line's own containers, so one principal never decides for another.

Capabilities

What it does

  • Negotiation requests

See pending rate requests from linked agencies with container types and quantities. Accept the current rates, or make a counter offer with rates and response notes.

  • Release orders

List bookings that need a release order and issue one with pickup location, authorized person, container numbers, special instructions and release charges.

  • Container acceptance

Issue container acceptance for a booking with acceptance date, surveyor, seal, weights, ownership status and any damage description for each container.

  • Container fleet

Add containers and manage the list. The overview counts total and available units and shows the average rate per day.

  • Container tracking

Maintain storage locations and movement settings, confirm container picks and drops, and look up one container's movements by its number.

  • Free days decisions

Open each agency request to see its containers with detention and demurrage free days, then approve it or reject it with a reason.

Workflow

How it works

  1. First

    Set up the line

The agency creates the line with its login under Line Management, or links a line that already exists in Sailix.

  2. Then

    Answer rate requests

The line opens Negotiation Requests and accepts the requested rates or sends back a counter offer.

  3. Next

    Release and accept containers

For bookings that need them, the line issues release orders and records container acceptance.

  4. Finally

    Decide free days

Requests for extra free days from agencies appear in the line's queue to approve or reject.

Questions

Questions and answers

What can a shipping line do in the Sailix liner portal?

A line can respond to container rate requests, issue release orders for bookings, issue container acceptance, manage its container list, storage locations and vendors, confirm container picks and drops, query a container's movements and approve or reject free days requests.

Can a line work with more than one agency in Sailix?

Yes. A line can be linked to several agencies. The overview has an agency selector, so the line can filter negotiations and bookings to one agency or keep all linked agencies in view together. An agency can also link a line that is already registered.

How does a line respond to a container rate request?

The line opens the request from its pending list and reviews the request details, container types, total quantity and pricing. It then either accepts the current rates or makes a counter offer, entering counter rates and response notes for the agency.

Can the line track its containers in Sailix?

Yes. Container Query shows movement and details for a container number. From Container Tracking the line can also maintain storage locations, configure movements, and confirm picks into inventory and drops out of it. The overview keeps a running count of total and available containers.
