Overview

Container Acceptance is the record that a booking's containers were received and checked. Sailix lists the confirmed bookings that do not have one yet. Opening a booking fills in its container numbers and types, and you add the seal numbers, weights, volume, owner status, transport mode and slot details for each container.

The acceptance also carries the survey: surveyor name, survey date, whether damage was found and a description. That decides what happens next. A container with damage is set to under repair and held out of available stock. The others are marked available. Either way, a movement is written to the container's history.

Capabilities

What it does

  • Pending bookings list

A pending tab shows confirmed bookings without an acceptance, with job reference, customer, route, vessel and container count.

  • Containers filled for you

Container number and type come from the booking. You add the seal, customs seal, e-seal, tare, cargo and net weights, and volume.

  • Survey and damage

Record the surveyor, survey date, damage found, description and remarks on the acceptance, plus the port authority letter and IMDG details.

  • Routing by damage

On issue, a damaged container is set to under repair and an undamaged one to available, each with a movement record explaining why.

  • Owner and slot detail

Each container records its owner status as carrier-owned, shipper-owned or free out, with transport mode, slot operator and who booked the slot.

  • Line portal access

Lines signed in to their portal can see the bookings on their own line that need acceptance and issue the acceptance themselves.

Workflow

How it works

  1. First

    Open the pending list

Go to Container Acceptance and pick a confirmed booking from the pending tab.

  2. Then

    Enter acceptance details

Set the acceptance date and the surveyor, and note any damage found.

  3. Next

    Complete each container

Fill in seals, weights, volume, owner status, transport mode and slot details for every container.

  4. Finally

    Issue the acceptance

Submit. Sailix assigns a reference, updates each container's status and lists the record under completed.

Questions

Questions and answers

What is a container acceptance in Sailix?

It is a record issued once per confirmed booking, stating that the booking's containers were received and surveyed. It holds the acceptance date, surveyor and damage findings and, per container, the seals, weights, volume, owner status and transport mode. Each acceptance gets its own reference.

Which bookings need a container acceptance?

Bookings in confirmed status that do not yet have an acceptance. Sailix lists them on the pending tab and allows one acceptance per booking. Once it is issued, the booking leaves the pending list and the record appears on the completed tab.

What happens when damage is found at acceptance?

The container is set to under repair and is not counted as available stock. Sailix writes a movement entry with the damage description, so the history shows the reason. Containers without damage are marked available for the next shipment.

Can the shipping line issue container acceptances itself?

Yes. The line's portal in Sailix has its own Container Acceptance screen. It shows the bookings on that line that need acceptance and the acceptances already issued, and the line's users create one with the same form the agency uses.
