Roles and permissionsDecide who sees and does what in each module.
Roles, teams and employee accounts with view, create, edit, delete and approve rights set module by module.

Platform
Overview
A shipping office has documentation, operations, accounts and sales desks that should not all see the same screens. In Sailix, a role decides which modules its employees see and what they can do inside each one. Rights are set per module as view, create, edit, delete and, where the module has an approval step, approve.
A new organization starts with two roles: a default member role and an administrator role. You can add your own, such as documentation or accounts, and each new role starts with no access until you grant it. The organization owner always has full access. Teams can carry a permission group, and each employee can be limited to specific branches.
Capabilities
What it does
Per-module rights matrix
Each role has a table of modules with switches for view, create, edit, delete and approve. Turning view off removes the module from that role's sidebar.
Custom roles
Create roles named for your desks, such as documentation, accounts or operations. A new role begins empty, so nothing is granted by accident.
Presets and module search
Apply full access, view and edit, view only or no access to the modules on screen, and search the module list to find a row quickly.
Team permission groups
Assign a permission group to a team. Its rights are added to each member's own role, so a shared desk gets the same access.
Employee accounts
Add employees with name, email, phone, designation and an optional primary team. Each account gets an employee code and signs in to the agency dashboard.
Approval rights kept separate
The default member role cannot decide B/L issue or delivery order approvals, or manage roles. Those rights are granted deliberately to the roles you choose.
Workflow
How it works
First
Create the roles
Open Roles and Permissions, add a role for each desk and choose which role new employees receive by default.
Then
Set module rights
Tick view, create, edit, delete and approve for each module, or apply a preset to the modules shown, then save the changes.
Next
Add teams and employees
Create teams, give a team a permission group where the whole desk needs the same access, and add employee accounts.
Finally
Assign roles and branches
On the Employees tab, pick each person's role and the branches that person can work in.
Questions
Questions and answers
Can I create custom roles in Sailix?
- Yes. Besides the default member and administrator roles that every organization starts with, you can create roles with your own names. A new role has no access at all. You then switch on view, create, edit, delete and approve rights module by module and save.
What permission levels does Sailix support?
- Five actions per module: view, create, edit, delete and approve. View is the gate, so switching it off hides the module from the sidebar. Approve applies only to modules that have an approval step, such as customer approvals, B/L issue approval and delivery order approval.
How do team permissions combine with an employee's role?
- An employee's access starts from the role assigned to them, or the default role if none is set. If their team has a permission group, the team's rights are added on top, so grants accumulate and never remove access. The organization owner is outside the matrix and has everything.
Who can change roles and permissions?
- The organization owner always can. Other users need rights on the Roles and Permissions module itself, which the default member role does not include. Someone with view rights only can read the roles and the matrix but cannot save. Assigning branches to people is a separate right.
