Platform

Overview

An agency with offices at several ports needs each office to work on its own bookings, customers and invoices while head office sees all of it. In Sailix you create branches under one organization. Each branch has a name, address, currency and an optional GSTIN, and the first branch you create becomes the default.

Staff pick a branch from the switcher in the dashboard, and the lists they open follow that branch. Owners and administrators can work in every branch. Other employees reach only the branches assigned to them, directly or through their team. Operational reports can be run for one office or across all offices.

Capabilities

What it does

  • Branch setup

Add a branch in Settings with its name, address, currency and optional GSTIN. Update the GSTIN later, and deactivate or reactivate a branch when needed.

  • Branch switcher

Choose the working branch from the dashboard. Sailix loads that branch's data and uses it as the active branch for the requests that follow.

  • Branch-scoped records

Bookings, quotations, customers and export invoices are stored against a branch, and their lists are filtered to the branch that is active.

  • Per-employee branch access

Set the branches each employee can work in. Owners and the administrator role reach all branches without individual assignment.

  • Transfer or grant access

Look up an existing employee by email, then transfer them to the current branch or grant them access to it, without creating a second account.

  • Module search

Press Ctrl or Cmd and K to search modules by name or initials. Each result shows its line of business, and recent picks are kept.

Workflow

How it works

  1. First

    Create the branches

In Settings, add each office with its address, currency and GSTIN. The first one becomes the organization's default branch.

  2. Then

    Assign people

Give each employee the branches they can work in, or transfer an existing employee into the branch by email.

  3. Next

    Switch and work

Select a branch in the dashboard switcher. Bookings, quotations, customers and invoices then show that branch's records.

  4. Finally

    Review across offices

Run operational reports with the office filter set to one branch, or to all, to compare activity.

Questions

Questions and answers

Can one Sailix account handle multiple branches?

Yes. Branches sit under a single organization, and each has its own address, currency and optional GSTIN. Users switch between the branches they are allowed to work in from the dashboard, and the records they see follow the active branch.

Can an employee be restricted to one branch?

Yes. Employees other than the owner and administrators reach only the branches assigned to them, either on the Employees tab of Roles and Permissions or through their team. If nothing has been assigned, the employee works in the organization's default branch.

Can each branch have its own currency and tax number?

Yes. A branch is created with one of eight supported currencies, including USD, EUR, INR and AED, and can hold its own GSTIN. The GSTIN can be added or updated later in Settings without recreating the branch.

Does Sailix have a global search?

Sailix has a module search opened with Ctrl or Cmd and K. It matches module names, descriptions and initials, and shows which line of business each result belongs to. It finds screens, not individual records. Records are searched from within each list.
