Platform

Overview

Every document a shipping desk sends out repeats data that is already in the system. Sailix builds each one from the saved record, so the quotation, B/L, invoice and manifest carry the parties, containers and charges that were entered once. Documents download as PDF, and some as Excel.

The issued B/L prints in the built-in Sailix layout. A line's own B/L form can be uploaded to its profile and opened from there for reference, but issued bills are not printed onto that form. Customs outputs, such as Cargo Summary Notification files and export EDI files, are downloaded from their own screens.

Capabilities

What it does

  • Quotation PDF

Download any quotation as a PDF, from the agency's quotation screens or by the customer from their own portal.

  • B/L draft and issued B/L

The draft PDF carries a DRAFT mark and the organization's logo for customer confirmation. The issued B/L has its own PDF once the bill is issued.

  • Invoice PDFs

Export invoices, import invoices, import detention invoices and maintenance and repair invoices each have a PDF. Registered GST e-invoices print with IRN and signed QR code.

  • Manifests and job sheets

Generate the export cargo manifest, the import manifest and the import master job as PDF files straight from their records.

  • Notices, releases and delivery orders

Arrival notices and delivery orders download as PDF. Release requests are produced as a PDF or as an Excel sheet to send to the yard.

  • Line B/L form storage

Upload a line's own B/L form to its profile and view or download it later. Issued B/Ls use the built-in layout, not the uploaded form.

Workflow

How it works

  1. First

    Complete the record

Enter the quotation, B/L, invoice or job once, with its parties, containers and charges.

  2. Then

    Open the document action

Use the download action on the record, or ask Sailix Bot for the document by its reference.

  3. Next

    Generate the file

Sailix builds the PDF or Excel file from the saved data at the moment you ask for it.

  4. Finally

    Send or print

Pass the file to the customer, line, yard or customs house agent, or print it.

Questions

Questions and answers

Which documents can Sailix generate as PDF?

Quotations, B/L drafts, issued bills of lading, export and import invoices, import detention invoices, maintenance and repair invoices, GST e-invoices, export and import manifests, import master jobs, arrival notices, release requests and delivery orders. Financial reports can also be generated as PDF.

Can Sailix print a bill of lading on the shipping line's own form?

No. A line's profile can store its B/L form as a file, which staff can view or download. Issued bills of lading are generated in the built-in Sailix layout, and draft bills carry a DRAFT mark until the bill is issued.

Does Sailix export documents to Excel?

Yes, for some. Release requests can be downloaded as Excel as well as PDF, operational reports export to Excel workbooks, and financial reports can be generated as Excel or PDF. Transaction documents such as invoices and bills of lading are produced as PDF.

Does the GST e-invoice PDF include the IRN and QR code?

Yes. For an invoice registered through GST Invoice Generation, the PDF leads with the IRN, the acknowledgement number and date, and the signed QR code. The figures below come from the payload that was filed, so the print matches the registered invoice.
