AI bill of lading readerUpload a B/L and get the form filled for review.

Sailix AI
Overview
Keying a bill of lading by hand means retyping the shipper, consignee, ports, cargo and every container and seal number. In Sailix you upload the B/L instead. The reader extracts the fields and opens a review dialog, where each value can be corrected before it reaches the form.
It works in two places: the export B/L draft form and the Import Bill of Lading (Admin) form. The reader saves nothing by itself. You apply the reviewed values, complete the remaining fields and save the record as usual. Each read is counted against your organization's monthly AI page allowance.
Capabilities
What it does
Party and route extraction
Reads the B/L number, shipper, consignee and notify parties with addresses, place of receipt, load and discharge ports, place of delivery, vessel and voyage.
Cargo and freight fields
Captures cargo description, marks, packages, gross weight, measurement, commodity, freight prepaid or collect, issue and shipped dates and the number of originals.
Container rows
Builds one row per container with number, seal, weights, packages and type. On the draft form, ports and container types are matched to your masters.
Review before applying
A dialog lists missing critical fields at the top and outlines them in red. Edit any value, then apply the set to the form.
Container checks
Before values reach a draft, each container row must have a seal number, and container numbers are checked for a valid letters and digits pattern.
File types and compression
The draft form takes PDF, PNG, JPEG or WebP files and the import form takes PDF. Large PDFs are compressed in the browser before upload.
Workflow
How it works
First
Upload the B/L
On the B/L draft or Import Bill of Lading form, choose the file. A PDF over 4.5 MB is compressed first.
Then
Wait for extraction
The reader processes the document and returns the fields. A file with no detectable B/L number is refused with a message.
Next
Review and correct
Check the values in the review dialog, fill anything flagged as missing and fix the container rows.
Finally
Apply and save
Apply the values to the form, complete the rest of the record and save it.
Questions
Questions and answers
Which file types and sizes can the B/L reader accept?
- The service accepts PDF, PNG, JPEG and WebP files up to 20 MB. PDFs larger than 4.5 MB are compressed in your browser first, and a PDF that cannot be brought under 4.5 MB is refused. The import B/L form accepts PDF only.
Does it work with scanned bills of lading?
- Yes. Scanned PDFs and photos go through OCR, and digital PDFs are read the same way. Results depend on the quality of the scan, which is why every value passes through the review dialog, with missing critical fields flagged, before it is applied.
Does the reader save the B/L automatically?
- No. It only prefills. Extracted values open in a review dialog, you edit them and press Apply, and they are placed in the form. Where the reader found nothing, what you had already typed is kept. The record is stored only when you save the form.
Which forms does the B/L reader fill?
- Two. On the export side it fills the B/L draft: parties, ports, freight terms, cargo and container rows. On the import side it fills Import Bill of Lading (Admin): parties, ports, vessel and voyage, B/L date, and the container, cargo and consignment rows.
