Sailix blocks the submit and names the container and its validity date. The late days are a detention matter, so you raise a Delivery Order Extension to cover them, settle the detention invoice that creates, and then register the return.

What goes into an M&R estimate?

A header with estimate number, container size and manufacture date, then component lines. With details, each line has dimensions, quantity, man-hours, labor and material costs. Without details, each line has a component, description and total. Every line carries a responsibility: none, consignee or line.

Who is billed for container repairs?

Each estimate line is assigned to the consignee or the line. Sailix sums only the lines on the line's account and raises an M&R invoice for that amount against the import B/L. It appears under M&R invoices with labor, material, total and payment status.

Container control

Overview

The import is not finished until the empty container is back in the yard. On the Empty Return and Repair screen you load the containers from a B/L or add them by hand, enter the yard and return date for each, and mark whether the unit needs repair. Each row shows the delivery order validity date it is measured against.

Sailix will not register a return that skips a charge. A container returned after its validity date needs a delivery order extension first, and a delivery order with unpaid invoices blocks the return until they are settled. Damaged units get an M&R estimate, and on submit the line's share becomes an M&R invoice.

Repairs for the same B/L merge into a single M&R invoice, even across batches, and the invoice is synced to the agent statement of account.
